Week 2 of Motivation May has come to a close and we are still on paths to healthier lives. In last week’s blog we discussed the technology tools we have been using to stay motivated and record our progress.
While technology is having a huge impact on our success, when it comes down to it, it is up to you to take the stairs, rather than the elevator, it is up to you to skip the doughnuts and choose oatmeal instead and it is up to you to make permanent changes in order to live a more healthy lifestyle.
Holloway , employees are fortunate enough to have a room in our corporate office dedicated to working out and getting active. Over the last year, access has been given to cardio machines like a treadmill, elliptical and recumbent bike. An more recently free weights, a bench, yoga mats and resistance bands have been added as participation and activity in the room has been added.
Having easy access to this equipment has been great motivation for Holloway employees. Whether we are coming in early for a quick set on the weights or staying after work to feel the burn on the elliptical, there is a very positive response to having the room available.
Another key motivation piece actually comes from our HR dept. They send out daily motivation in an email with quotes to help keep us going. It’s the little things that matter and they are doing an excellent job – Thanks HR!
Remember to stay tuned for next weeks update on progress. We are hoping to get some comments from participants to see how their month of motivation is going.

Today’s motivation quote from HR:
“Falling down is an accident. Staying down is a choice.”
